“I wish I could show you, when you are lonely and in darkness, the astonishing light of your own being.” Hafiz, 14th century mystic Persian poet

Come share four days with us in the mountains and high desert of northern New Mexico, along the banks of the Winsor Creek and Pecos River, under the star-filled skies. We’re excited to offer a retreat that incorporates Larry’s new book Wild Joy, as a way to connect to our truest selves and live the lives we’re most meant to lead. We’ll explore the wisdom of trees and water, be in loving and kind community and together we will co-create a sacred space to re-energize our souls and spirit.
Larry writes about “healing the oneness wound” and invites us to heal the wound of separation — separation from nature, from each other, and even from ourselves.

We’ll learn to be in greater mutual exchange with the earth. We’ll deepen our sense of belonging within our community. And perhaps most importantly, with tenderness we’ll explore where we may have abandoned ourselves earlier in life. We’ll work with both group and individual experiences to best nourish and heal ourselves, and we’ll look to mother nature to guide and deepen our growth. We’ll do all of this in a beautiful community of brave individuals meeting this moment with love and compassion.

This journey is for anyone who:
- wants to feel more joy and aliveness, and who doesn’t these days?!
- wants to connect more deeply to themselves and nature
- seeks a supportive community, facilitated in a trauma-informed setting in nature
- desire a greater reciprocity with the more-than-human world
Our time together:
- Sept 18: arrive at basecamp in the afternoon to set up camp and introduce ourselves to the land; evening ceremony to set our intentions
- Sept 19: enjoy an eco-hike and choose a creativity project to spend time on during the journey; talking circle and time with the stars after dinner
- Sept 20: spend time with Grandmother Spruce by the river, experience ritual and ceremonies that can be used in healing work, connect with ancestral gifts through deep listening and meditations
- Sept 21: spend the day in a solo spot of your choosing; connect with the land and your most authentic self; evening sharing circle
- Sept 22: closing circle and remembrance ceremony; gratitude to the spirits of the land; return to Santa Fe or Albuquerque by early afternoon
What you’ll walk away with:
- Deep embodiment of your authentic, intuitive self
- Profound connection to nature as a source of guidance, healing, and strength
- Ceremonies for healing and nourishing yourself through self-care
- Meditations to use on your own at home
- A powerful community of people to learn with and be witnessed by, with a zoom gathering after the journey
- Experience of becoming one with nature, sharing in and learning her gifts
We will be guests in a mountain cabin, nestled in the Santa Fe National Forest about an hour from Santa Fe. There are a limited number of private bedrooms so please let us know whether you’d like to sleep inside or out. Many of us will sleep under the stars.

“If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.” Lao Tzu

This program is in grateful partnership with Larry Glover, Allison Cunningham, Ericka Kidd and Pam Rice.
